This donation was secured as part of Medical Supply Drive, a nationwide, nonprofit effort run by professional health students and created to address the shortage of PPE throughout the United States. The Medical Supply Drive reaches out to community organizations, citizens, businesses, and other groups to request donations of PPE that can be given to local hospitals that need the supplies.

This effort is led by the regional coordinator, Nikita Kadakia, and a team of medical students from the UCR School of Medicine. This team has been able to secure more than 30,100 surgical masks, 2,500 face shields, 9,400 gloves, and 197 goggles for hospitals in the Inland Empire.
